Answer:

a) constant linear speed

Calculating the angular speed

ω = θ / t

ω = 2 rev / 1 s

ω = 2 rev/s × (2π rad / 1 rev)

ω = 12.5664 rad/s

Calculating the linear speed

v = ωr

v = (12.5664 rad/s)(16.90 m)

v = 212.372 m/s

v = 212.37 m/s

b) centripetal acceleration

a = v² / r

a = (212.372 m/s)² / 16.90 m

a = 2668.75 m/s²

c) centripetal force

F = ma

F = (35 kg)(2668.75 m/s²)

F = 93406.25 N

How does accounting work? What are the steps?

Accounting is a set of steps that a business takes to keep track of its financial transactions. These steps include collecting, identifying, classifying, summarizing, and recording business transactions in the company's books of accounts so that the entity's financial statements can be made. After a set amount of time, the business's profits and financial health can be seen.

Step 1 of the accounting process is to figure out what happened.

The first step in accounting is to figure out what the business transaction was. The business entity needs to figure out what financial and money transactions have happened.

#2: Writing down the events in the journal

After figuring out what transactions have happened, the second step in accounting is to make a Journal entry for each transaction. The point at which transactions are recorded depends on the entity's accounting policy, which is either an accrual basis or a cash basis. In the accrual method of accounting, income and expenses are recorded in the books of the business in the period in which they are earned or incurred, regardless of when the cash is actually received or paid.

#3: Writing in the book

After the transaction is written down in the Journal, each account is posted to the general ledger. It lets the owner or accountant know how much money is in each account.

#4: Trial balance without any changes

The company makes a trial balance to see if the debits and credits add up to the same amount or not. The main goal of the trial balance is to find any mistakes made in the steps above.

#5: Making Changes to Journal Entries

When the accrual method of accounting is used, some of the entries must be made at the end of the accounting year. These include entries for expenses that may have been paid but are not yet in the Journal and entries for some income that the business may have made but has not yet been recorded in the books.

#6: Trial Balance with Changes

After all of the adjusting entries have been made, a trial balance must be made again before the financial statements can be made. This is to make sure that all of the credits and debits are equal after all of the adjusting entries have been made.

#7: Putting together the financial statements

After all of the above steps are done, the company's financial statements are made so that the business's actual financial position, profitability, and cash flow can be seen.

#8: Ending the Entries

This step is the last one in the accounting cycle. These entries move the balances from temporary accounts to accounts that will stay open. The accounts whose balances end in a single accounting year, like sales, purchases, expenses, etc., are called temporary accounts.

14. In addition to the year-end statement of financial position and income statement, the management of Esterlina Gevera Company required the controller to prepare the statement of cost of goods manufactured. During 2020, P361,920 of raw materials were purchased. Operating cost data and inventory account balances for 2020 follow: Direct Labor (10,430 hours at P9.50 per hour) Plant Supervision Indirect Labor (20,280 hours at P6.25 per hour) Factory Insurance Factory Utilities Depreciation--Factory Building Depreciation --Factory Equipment Manufacturing Supplies Repairs and Maintenance Selling and Administrative Expenses Raw Materials Inventory, Jan 1, 2020 Work in Process Inventory, Jan. 1, 2020 Finished Goods Inventory, Jan 1, 2020 Raw Materials Inventory, Dec 31, 2020 Work in Process Inventory, Dec 31, 2020 Finished Goods Inventory, Dec 31, 2020 P 99,085 42,500 126,750 8,100 29,220 46,200 62,800 9,460 14,980 76,480 26,490 101,640 148,290 24,910 100,400 141,100 Required: 1. Compute the cost of direct materials used during the year. 2. Compute the total manufacturing costs for the year. 3. Compute the cost of goods manufactured during the year.

Answer:

To compute the cost of direct materials used, the following steps can be followed:

Determine the raw materials inventory at the beginning of the year: P26,490

Determine the raw materials inventory at the end of the year: P24,910

Subtract the raw materials inventory at the end of the year from the raw materials inventory at the beginning of the year: P26,490 - P24,910 = P1,580

Add the raw materials purchased during the year to the difference in raw materials inventory: P1,580 + P361,920 = P363,500

Therefore, the cost of direct materials used during the year is P363,500.

To compute the total manufacturing costs for the year, we can add up all of the manufacturing costs listed in the problem:

P99,085 + P42,500 + P126,750 + P8,100 + P29,220 + P46,200 + P62,800 + P9,460 + P14,980 + P76,480 = P421,865

To compute the cost of goods manufactured during the year, we can add the cost of direct materials used to the total manufacturing costs:

P363,500 + P421,865 = P785,365

Therefore, the cost of goods manufactured during the year is P785,365.
